Has anyone noticed how the Argentina players are starting to hit ominous form?

Carlos Tevez is in the form of his life, Pablo Zabaleta has been a revelation at Man City, and Lionel Messi is his usual brilliant self. Even those two jokers at Newcastle, Jonás Gutiérrez and Fabricio Coloccini at last seem to be doing something right

They are obviously on the opposite cycle to Scotland, who generally lose form as soon as  international competition qualifying gets underway, only to find it again once they've missed the boat.

It's confusing for Scottish fans if both Argentina AND Scotland qualify for the World Cup finals.

So for the last 12 years the Scots' national team has done the honourable thing so its peiople only has one side to support.

Impressed with this lot. Nice to see Juan Sebastian turning it on. And some of the long-hair on display is truly mesmerising. A wonderful thing

Nice hair indeed, but ultimately this lot were let down by their terrible defence.

Right from Maradona dropping Zanetti from his squad, it didn't look good for the Argies. And when Dimichelis gifted South Korea a goal in the group, it was obvious that when they faced a decent side, Argentina would fall.

Still, the World Cup has been a better place with their entertaining football. Please, please, PLEASE stay Diego!
